World Day for Cultural Diversity

Every year on May 21st the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development celebrates not only the richness of the world’s cultures, but also the essential role of intercultural dialogue for achieving peace and sustainable development.

This academic year, staff and students at Brookvale Groby Learning Campus have increased our multicultural dialogue. We’ve celebrated Stephen Lawrence Day, discussed why Black Lives Matter, considered how our unconscious biases influence our daily interactions, and learned more about the religious festivals of Ramadan and Diwali.

Three quarters of the world’s conflicts have a cultural dimension. Helping our students to close the cultural gap will help to develop peace, stability and development. If you would like to find out more click this link: https://www.un.org/en/observances/cultural-diversity-day
