KS3 Writing Competition – May

By Miss A Chapman10th May 2018

Calling all KS3 students!

On May 22nd 1859, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born. He went on to become a world renowned author. His most notable stories were those about the adventures of a certain
genius detective; Sherlock Holmes.

To celebrate his life and work the English department is holding a creative writing
competition.

Write a detective story no longer than two sides of A4.

Entries should be submitted to Ms Norton in the Brookvale Library.

Deadline for entries is Monday 4th June.

The competition will be judged by the English, Media and Literacy department and a prize linked to the anniversary will be awarded to the winner.

Good luck!

YEAR 11 LIFESKILLS LESSONS

By Mrs E Dawson26th April 2018

As we move forward into exam territory , individual students may wish to complete particular tasks within faculty areas rather than in their Lifeskills classroom. This is okay provided that all students have gone to their Lifeskills room to REGISTER and then have been given permission from their teacher and from the teacher that they are going to, to do so. Students MAY NOT just take themselves off to the LRC and if one student has permission it doesn’t mean that all their mates also have permission!

This is a safeguarding issue – we must know where you are and you will be challenged if you do not follow procedure.
