COUNTY CUP FINALS WINNERS!

By Mrs C Anderson19th March 2018

Friday 16th March: COUNTY CUP FINALS WINNERS!

Our Year 8 and Year 11 football teams experienced County Cup success as they completed a famous double for the campus!

The Year 8 football team retained their County Cup title with a 2-0 victory over St Paul’s in a closely fought encounter. Goals from Frankie Richardson and a Kyle McAdam penalty late on ensured the County Cup remained on the campus for another year.

Our Year 11 footballers were also involved in a tight affair against Belvoir High School. An Olly Mullings strike, mid-way through the first half saw the boys home but not after some resolute defending ensured the score remained 1-0, as the team were rewarded for their hard work throughout this year with some silverware.

Well done to all involved, a brilliant achievement!

School Direct Trainees

By Mrs C Anderson6th March 2018

On Monday 5th March our School Direct Trainees participated in a Professional Studies Day focusing on Marking and Feedback.  As a School Direct partnership, we are unique in Leicestershire delivering all of the Professional Study Days in our partnership schools.  Trainees work with staff to develop their skills they will need as newly qualified teachers from September 2018!

All trainees will observe lessons in their subject faculties and come together afterwards to discuss teaching techniques.

Learning and developing skills in this way adds variety and depth to the topics and also allows the trainees to share experiences with senior and experience teachers.

If you or any of your family or friends are interested in finding out more about training to teach, check the campus website at www.brookvalegroby.com or email Virginia Toon at vtoon@brookvalegroby.com

Equalities Award 2018 – 2021

By Mrs C Anderson6th March 2018

We are delighted to announce that Brookvale Groby Learning Campus have recently been re-designated with The Equalities Award for the next 3 years. We first received the award in 2014. Re-designation is by no means a formality and any institution that wishes to maintain their accreditation has to supply significant evidence to demonstrate that they have a real commitment to achieving and maintaining equality for everyone.

All aspects of the equality agenda are explored and so the process of working towards the award is as useful for us in checking and developing our provision as much as for the prestige of being awarded it.

As a school that tries every day to live out our “Valuing Everyone” motto we are proud to have been externally recognised in this way.
