In Mrs Stewart’s Year 10 Media class this morning, students took on the challenge of creating their own digital version of the Radio 2’s ‘The Archers’. The students planned, designed, produced and then presented their ideas at the end of the workshop.

This morning Liam from Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport (LRS) came onto campus to present us with an award. We received the Team Leicestershire Champion school trophy by virtue of winning the joint highest number of Team Leicestershire county titles last year with 5! Rawlins Academy have had the trophy for the first half of the year and we will hold it until next year. All of our students involved in the winning teams last year were invited to an assembly to receive the trophy of the schools behalf.

The U16 Girls Badminton Team pictured below, have just won the
Hinckley and Bosworth Badminton competition.
They progress onto the county finals later in the year.

Year 10 Girls Futsal Team win the
Hinckley and Bosworth Area Tournament for the fourth year in a row!
The team participated in Area tournament on Thursday 16th January at Heath Lane Academy. Showing amazing skills, confidence, teamwork and attitude the girls were able to secure their fourth win in four years. The girls took wins over Hastings High School, Hinckley Academy and St Martins, and despite dominating the game a draw was achieved against Bosworth Academy. The girls will now go on to represent Hinckley and Bosworth at the upcoming county tournament, with the hope that they will also take the County Cup for the fourth year in a row. Goals were made by Mackenzie Smith and Dulci Binns and Sasha Booree added herself to the scoreboard with an amazing long distance kick. Darcy Warden was fantastic stepping in to the Goal Keeper position and Lucy Hollingworth and Rhea Rushin were strong and solid in defence letting nothing get past them.
Well done girls.
Today we welcomed Dr Alif Moosajee as our Medhedz Guest speaker who is a dentist and owner of Oakdale Dental Practice and the author of ‘The Smiling Dentist’.
