The U16 Girls Football ESFA National Cup journey came to an end at the quarter-final stage on 30th January. After a long mini-bus journey to Durham, we were slow out of the blocks and were 2-0 down within 15 minutes. We rallied and got back in the game through Dulci Binns, who finished well after a Mackenzie Smith through ball. We conceded again just before half-time when a deflected strike flew over Rianna Lin in goal. We had a lot of pressure in the second half, but couldn’t take our chances – forcing their goal keeper into good saves and hitting the woodwork. Durham Johnston hit us on the break twice, with Darcy Warden netting in between, to leave the final score at 5-2 in the oppositions favour. A disappointing result, but a fantastic achievement to be in the top 8 schools teams in the country. All the students did themselves and the college proud. Our attentions now shift to winning the Team Leicestershire County Cup.

WELL DONE GIRLS!
