Our subjects naturally lend themselves to supporting students in their other studies on the campus, including many links to numeracy and literacy. Our curriculum has been developed to provide opportunities for students to demonstrate leadership, aspiration, as well as resilience through project work. Educational and subject specific research has led to a curriculum which has been designed to ensure maximum success and excellence for all students.
The Business curriculum is designed to engage students in developing enterprising minds and to inspire commercial thinking. The business world is dynamic meaning that cultural capital is enhanced through exposure to analysing and evaluating contemporary local and global business contexts.
The Computing curriculum is designed to challenge students to become more resilient and aspirational by fostering innovative, logical and problem-solving skills using computational terms through practical experience such as designing, writing and debugging programs.
The Digital Information Technology curriculum is designed to develop students’ project planning, interface design and presentation of data skills. Furthermore, they gain an understanding of effective ways of working with cyber security, virtual teams, and legal and ethical codes of conduct.
In order for students to gain hands-on experience to complement their experience in the classroom, students have the opportunity to participate in our extra-curricular activities such as, joining the programming club, taking part in the Tycoon Enterprise competition at KS4 and KS5 or becoming a subject mentor. Students also have the opportunity to attend The BETT Show.
