Student Council

By Mrs C Anderson5th November 2018

ENRICH is the name given to our group of local headteachers, primary and secondary, with the main purpose to organise enrichment activities and events for the pupils in our schools.

Today the Student Council met to discuss ‘how we can work together for future joint events’. The Student Council consisted of 23 students; two Year 7 students from Brookvale Groby and Year 6 representatives from the following local primary schools; Lady Jane Grey, Elizabeth Woodville, Kirby Muxloe, Martinshaw, Mercenfeld, Newtown Linford, Ratby, Stanton-Under-Bardon, Thornton and Glenfield.

Some fantastic ideas were brain stormed, with the top 3 to be discussed and finalised at the next meeting.

WELL DONE TO ALL THE STUDENTS WHO ATTENDED!

Student success in the new GCSEs. Well done to the Class of 2018!

By Mrs C Anderson23rd August 2018

I would like to express our warmest congratulations to our GCSE students who have received their results today following the reform to all qualifications. Against a backdrop of unprecedented change and much tougher exams in across almost all GCSE and Level 2 courses our students have done extremely well.

It is hard to draw comparisons between the year groups but these results reflect a great deal of hard work by students and the staff who work with them. As a campus we have challenged our Year 11 students to work even harder because of the unknown nature of the new exams. We are thrilled to see that the hard work and determination has paid off.

Due to a problem with the exam board and the publication of some of the GCSE English Language results we are not able to bring you the normal information about our highest performing students. We will aim to publish this information in the next few days once the exam board confirms the results.

Please click here to enjoy the celebration with our brilliant students.

Thank you to parents and carers for their unwavering support during the busy revision and exam period.  Your family support is absolutely central to the students doing so well; these are your grades too!

My thanks and appreciation goes out to our staff who make it possible for the students to achieve these grades from the moment they start on campus in Year 7.

For any students who are staying to continue their studies at Post 16 please remember that the details for signing on have been sent out to you prior to the summer holiday. If you are unsure about what you are doing please contact the Post 16 team; post16@brookvalegroby.com  Staff will be on campus from Tuesday 28 August and Post 16 sign on day is Wednesday 29 August 2018, 9.30am – 11.30am. Year 12 studies will commence on Friday 31 August at 8.40am and have their photos taken during period 3.

Our brilliant class of 2018 – A Levels and Level 3 Vocational Courses

By Mrs C Anderson16th August 2018

A Level students at the Brookvale Groby Learning Campus have celebrated some excellent results this morning. During Year 12 and 13 students have studied a mixture of the brand new, much more rigorous, A Levels and Level 3 Vocational courses. The outcomes from this advanced level of study reflect the extraordinary effort and hard work of our students during the last two years.

There were some exceptional individual outcomes in this year’s set of results as well as many students who have made excellent progress over the last two years since taking their GCSEs.

Click here to see some of our students receiving their results this morning.

A huge congratulation goes out to our students and we wish them well in the next chapter of their lives. Many of them are off to university with some going straight into employment and further training. In fact some of our hard working young people have taken time off work from their new careers to join us this morning for result collection and celebration with their peers and staff.

I would like to thank the parents for their endless support throughout their child’s education. Thank you also to our hard working and dedicated team of staff who make the achievements of our young people possible during a period of such dramatic change.

Well done and good luck to our Year 13 students from the Class of 2018.
