BGLC is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. At this terribly sad time, our thoughts are with the entire British Royal Family and the nation.
At 9am we will observe a 2 minutes silence, and fly the flag at half mast to pay our respects to the Queen.

Huge congratulations go to Year 10 student Louie Paddison, who during the summer break became the U15 3000m Midlands Counties Champion and then went on to finish 7th in the English Championships with a PB time!
Below is a photo of him receiving his medal at the Midlands Championships.
WELL DONE LOUIE, what a fantastic achievement!

We are delighted to be celebrating alongside our students today as they receive their results after the past challenging two years.
We are so proud of our GCSE students and what they have achieved in the face of adversity. They are to be commended for the resilience they have shown, the determination to succeed and the way in which they approached their exams. We are so pleased to see so many students have decided to stay with us into Post 16 and we wish all those moving onto new and exciting settings all the very best.
We have seen many students achieving phenomenal grades this year and making real progress across all their courses, but this isn’t the year to post percentages and highlight the exceptional success of individuals, as we believe all our students have succeeded.
Our community was impacted significantly by the pandemic and these students lost more learning time than many others across the country. What they have achieved as a cohort is to be applauded and we wish them all every success in their future endeavours. I would also like to say a special thank you to all our staff who worked tirelessly to support our students through these challenging times, going above and beyond to make sure success was inevitable. I am also very grateful for the support from all our parents and carers who we have worked in partnership with us over these past years to make sure their children have flourished. Without their support we wouldn’t be seeing the great results we have today, it’s been a real team effort.
Well done the BGLC cohort of 2022, you have much to be proud of.
