The week beginning 15th January saw assemblies in Years 7 -11 which celebrated the success of students in the Autumn Term. The efforts and achievement of over 500 students in five different categories was recognised and the buzz in the hall / theatre each morning suggests that, while they may sometimes say otherwise, most young people appreciate seeing their good work recognised!
Students were identified in 5 different categories:
- Most merits / reward points
- No behaviour points
- 100% attendance
- Receiving grade 1’s for all subjects for Self Control with Learning on their reports
- Achieving target grades in all subjects
As you can see the criteria are tough so it is testament to the students’ attitudes that so many are on each list.
In addition to those awards any students who had received an award in all of the final four categories were recognised for a Headteachers Award. This is a truly special achievement and yet 17 students across the school managed this feat.
Congratulations to all students who were recognised in the assemblies.
