Year 7 (Single lessons for 1 x 7 - 8 week rotation) | Aboriginal Book Project - In this project students will: - Have an introduction into Photoshop. - Research artists and create mood boards based on the project theme. - Primary research of book covers (homework). - Experiment with digital dot art in the style of Aboriginal Art. - Create an independent personal response or final piece using Photoshop. - Learn how to present work professionally. - Present and Evaluate work effectively. |

Year 8 (Single lessons for 2 x rotations. Rotation 1 and 3) | British Seaside Project - In this project students will: - Have an introduction into Photoshop. - Research artists and create mood boards based on the project theme. - Primary research of holiday photographs (homework). - Learn to draw in Photoshop using the pen tool. - Create an independent personal response or final piece using Photoshop. - Learn how to present work professionally. - Present and Evaluate work effectively. |

Year 9 (2 x 9 week rotations) | First 9 week rotation: Colour Popping – Digital skill building unit that looks at turning images black and white with a small part of the photograph being edited to have a pop of colour. Repeat Patterns – Digital skill building unit that enables the students to produce their own repeat patterns on themes of their own choice. Ross Holden – Students to produce digital mandalas inspired by the artists Ross Holden on themes of their own choice. Second 9 week rotation: Typography – Students to experiment producing typography with a range of different materials and photograph to then be presented in their portfolios. |

Year 10 | Coursework (60% of GCSE) until Term 2 in Year 11 Patrick Boyer – Students to look at a contemporary graphic artist and form their own personal interpretation of their work as well as writing analytically about the artists work as well as their own. Sarah Beetson – Students to look at a contemporary graphic illustrator and form their own personal interpretation of their work as well as writing analytically about the artists work as well as their own. Their personal work will be developed into a magazine cover. | Logo/Branding Production Students will learn how to produce a Mono print and a Polyboard print in which they will then develop their artwork into a logo design for a potential company. Students will further develop their editing skills and knowledge in how to improve designs in a variety of different ways to deepen their knowledge in Photoshop. Design Idea Generation – Students will develop their idea generation by producing drawn design ideas for a number of products. These products will need to factor in key information and specifications when designing. | Personal Investigation – Students to have the chance to undertake an extended project of their own based on a hobby or interest such as Promotional material for a fashion show / advertising a new film / video game / dvd / album. |
Year 11 | Personal Investigation – Students to have the chance to undertake an extended project of their own based on a hobby or interest such as Promotional material for a fashion show / advertising a new film / video game / dvd / album. | Experimentation – Students will look at a variety of techniques such as printing and paper cutting that will allow them to experiment and gain skills in more traditional elements. This will then be applied to Graphic Design products to give purpose to the students' design work. Design Idea Generation – Students will develop their idea generation by producing drawn design ideas for a number of products. These products will need to factor in key information and specifications when designing. | Exam Board Set Assignment continued – Students to complete their exam this term in which 10hrs will be sat in exam conditions. Students will sit this in the main Graphics room and work at the computers to produce their final designs. Students will have completed the course before May half term. |
